Considering the North American leg of her Speak Now tour wrapped months ago, it's no surprise that Taylor Swift is busy crafting a new album.
That much was confirmed by MTV News in December, though back then, the Grammy performer and Hunger Games songstress was keeping quiet when it came to describing her work-in-progress. "It's a secret," she said at the time, "it will be unveiled when it all comes out."
For her new Vogue cover story, however, Swift has been a bit more generous with information about Speak Now's follow-up, and though the six-page profile reveals the 22-year-old is currently single ("I got nothing going on! I just don't really feel like dating."), her new songs are apparently inspired by a relationship.
"There's just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak," Swift told Vogue, "and that will turn out to be what the next album is about."
Swift has previously been linked to Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, John Mayer and Taylor Lautner. When her Speak Now follow-up arrives, look for anagrams of all of their names in the lyrics.
Swift continued to discuss the personal nature of her next record, which so far doesn't seem like a vastly different approach from the rest of her songbook: "The only way that I can feel better about myself -- pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone -- is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity."
